– Velvet & Bordeaux –

Happy December lovelies!  I am so excited and honored to be guest posting here and sharing a holiday outfit with you all!  Molly is such a lovely host and I think this is such a fun idea!

As you might have guest from the post’s title, today we’re talking about velvet! Many of you may have noticed that velvet has been trending hard this fall, and I’m so excited it is!  It’s such a lovely fabric in general, but it’s also perfect for the holidays!  It’s richer, thicker, and textured, adding a bit of luxe and glam to any outfit, whether you’re wearing a little bit of it as an accessory or are completely decked out in it.  Plus, it’s warm, so it’s perfect to wear during the cooler months!

I opted to go all out, since I already had this velvet dress in my closet from 2 years ago.  (Proof that velvet is a holiday trend that’s not going anywhere anytime soon!)  Pairing the dress with these heels was a no-brainer since they’re also velvet, and the burgundy/bordeaux adds a nice pop of Christmassy color!  Vevlet on velvet might typically be a bit much, but during the holidays it’s perfect!  You want to choose fabrics and colors that are rich and luxurious, and add a little extra sparkle and glam when you can!

As you might have guessed, this dress is no longer available since it’s from a few years ago, but I’ve linked some great options below!  And these shoes are even more gorgeous in person and are a great statement piece for any holiday outfit!  Definitely check them out!  Happy Holidays!!

Christmas is one of my favorite holidays of the year because that means Christmas parties! I love spending quality time with friends and family and making wonderful holiday memories, which also includes eating way too many cookies. The inspiration for my outfit began with this beautiful crushed velvet dress from Zara. Although the style of the dress is simple, the detailing in the fabric makes this dress festive and comfortable. Since I want the dress to steal the show, I paired the dress with black tights and black suede platform sandals, which I love! Last but not least, I finished the look with a pair of statement earrings, an oversized ring, and a quilted leather clutch. Now I am ready to have a great time. Merry Christmas everyone!

Dress: Zara

Earrings: Zara

Ring: Aldo

Shoes: Michael Kors

Clutch: Forever 21

The festive period is upon us once again, and with it comes opportunities to pull out all those lovely pieces that you don’t get chance to wear throughout the rest of the year. Like this top. The intricate beading and cape sleeves on this top means it’s for special occasions only, but it makes me feel really fancy whenever I do wear it. This year I paired it with my new leather trousers and this amazing gold blazer that I found in a charity shop for just £3! Perfect for this time of year!

Happy holidays to you all!

Give it new perspective: the white Xmas look

The Christmas party look might seem quite simple at a first view: let’s wear something red or green with a pop of glam jewelry and make-up. But this is not me as it gets too predictable. Liters of ink have already been spilled on these specifics…And I love so much to complicate things when there is no need! Or should you see the idea that crossed my mind for this challenge, you’d rather say that I love to make things so too simple.

First outfit I created was dark shaded and a little bit extra tough and less feminine. In order for you to picture that, just put together a black sleeveless top paired and a midi silver chiffon skirt. Pair with black heels and with two massive silvered bracelets while wearing red lips and savage hair. Got an interesting one, but it doesn’t sound like a look which is suitable to a Christmas appearance.

Long story short, the matter strongly had to be reconsidered and a new theme had to emerge.

And it suddenly hit me: the H&M white bodycon midi dress. Nothing else could be more of Christmas spirit then a snow white and unexpected dress. As this one is one of the versatile items listed by almost any fashion guidelines publications in the world, I chose to put in the spotlight my several years old faux fur piece of accessory with a romantic and classic black satin bow. I selected my Valentino inspired mid strappy black heels. These have crystal applications which work perfect with the glam spirit of the year end celebrations. A black and white situation saving our souls again, babes. Who wouldn’t agree that this is truly a classic? Nothing could have pleased me more.

For this white snow inspired look the make-up and hair style look at their best in neutral and simple shades. A nude beige lipstick and comb only hairstyle allow the gorgeous white dress ‘speak’ for you. Less is always more!

Probably you’re asking yourselves ‘All right, this look may be stunning, but how am I supposed to wear it when it’s freezing outside?!’. Nothing more simple. Put on a blazer under the winter coat and choose boots before getting in the car, then discreetly switch to heels and save the blazer for later once arrived at the party. Feel different and wear your dress with an astonishing natural smile. Get the most out of your iconic piece.

Cheers,

D.

Hello there my loves!

How many more days to go until Christmas? And how many more days until we say Happy New Year? TIK TOK TIK TOK!! It’s 15 more days to Christmas and 21 more days to New Year’s Eve!! I know how excited you are because I am supper excited too! Do you still need to do some last minute shopping? Do you know what to wear during the celebrations? December is like the Friday of the months so it’s the most fun and joyful time of the year that we’ve been waiting for. Just to help you lower your level of anxiety, I’ve teamed up with 10 fashion bloggers to deliver you some Holiday Fashion Ideas in these upcoming 14 days, starting from today.

Let’s start with the first Holiday style. First off, I have to say that I don’t like spending a lot of money on cloths that I can only wear once. This outfit I am showing you today however, will be good for any occasion. I tried to get away from the traditional Christmas colors, so I choose Black, Lilac and Nude. Velvet and faux suede help to add a little bit of the holiday feel to this look.

This outfit will be appropriate when you’re celebrating your Christmas with friends. When you’re far away from home but still need to have some fun and get your Christmas spirits pumped up. After the party’s over, if you want to go for a movie or have dinner somewhere, you don’t have to change into a different outfit. This outfit will keep you comfortable all day long.

I remember that most of the time I would have to change into a different outfit after the party was over before I would go out to the Movies. I feel like this was a waste of time and also a waste of money to spend for many clothes in one day.

I know different parts of the country/world have different kinds of weather. I am in Arizona, it’s not as cold here during this time of year, so I am able to dress like this. I would recommend though, wearing tights underneath your skorts and to bring a long neutral color coat with you to keep you warm when going out! Gloves, scarf and beanie are perfect accessories to add some coziness to this outfit too.

When it comes to dressing up, I don’t think we should limit ourselves to a certain outfit. As long as you feel comfortable with what you’re wearing, you know where you’re going and you know who will be with you, that’s all that matters.

Before I put any dresses on, I always keep this in mind, “dress appropriately for the weather, places and people but most importantly do dress that makes you feel the most comfortable in.”, this way I have more freedom to dress up in a fun, but also most comfy way possible.

I am sure you will get tons of holiday outfit ideas from my Holiday Fashion Series. You will get inspired from lots of unique styles. Don’t hesitate to give some love to all the fashionistas who are being featured on my blog in these 14 days.

See you again in between this series!

Happy Holidays my loves!
