Healthier Mom Diaries: Mother’s Day Gift Guide

Sharing with you a Mother’s Day Gift Guide packed with items that will surely make your mom/ yourself who is a mom happy and healthy.

Read on to get some ideas on what to get for this special day!

“Every day is Mother’s Day.”

Dear, all my mom friends,

Don’t give up. You are doing great.

Becoming a mom has changed me in so many ways. Including the change of my body, sleeping schedule, health, and perspective of all the things that matter to me most. I remembered making cards and gifts for my mother. Buying her clothes, jewelry, and flowers. Importantly I never forget to tell her how much I love her.
As a kid, that was the thing I could think and do to express and gifted items that were, for me, symbols of my love for my mother. But what dis she really want? She told me every year that all she wanted from me was for me to be a good kid, be happy, be successful in life and everything I do, and to love and respect myself always.
Now that I am a mother, do I want the same gifts from my kids? Of course, yes. The best gift my kids could give me is becoming a good person, be happy and successful. Always loving and respecting themselves. I think these are the things moms wanted from their kids, plus more.

But, what is a Mother’s Day gift that mom really wants for herself? What’s the best gift out there that can make and keep mom happy?

I asked this question to myself, and it turned out, I wanted to be healthy, so I can keep being a healthy and happy mom to my babies. And being healthy is the only gift I’m giving to myself this Mother’s Day (aka every day).

If you have health, you probably will be happy, and if you have health and happiness, you have the wealth you need, even if it is not all you want.

So now, my lovely reader friend, here I have listed and linked all the tangible gifts that I feel your mother would need and find most valuable when receiving it. Also, sharing with you three ladies who I got so inspired by their lifestyle as a mother and entrepreneurs every time their photos pop up on my Instagram feed.

Now living away from my mother, instead of making a card, I text and call her. I sent her protein powder, vitamins, and supplements. And remind her to eat healthily and exercise often. I feel like these are the best gifts I can give to her.

Read on to find out what is worth trying!

“I started to become a more of a conscious buyer than ever because of the situation we are in, and I feel like it is a good habit to have so I am grateful for that.”

There is so much good stuff I wanted to purchase during the Sephora Spring Savings Event this year, but I had to be a little bit more conscious about my spending.

I adopted a clean beauty ritual for a while and almost 100% of my beauty products I am using these days are vegan, natural, and clean.

With that being said, there is no surprise here that what I got was from their “Clean at Sephora” collection.

I purchased what I haven’t tried yet so that I can give you my honest review in the upcoming posts on my new Sustainable Beauty & Style blog, GoodLuxeStudio.com.

Before we get right into what I got here are the deals.

Some Quick Advice Before Start Shopping

Below I typed up some of my thoughts before you start purchasing new items!

I want to make sure you are aware that everything you get is worth your money spent! Read on!

Ps. Feel free to use these set of images and tag my Instagram @CuratedByMolly #CuratedByMolly #AllAboutGoodVibes

Don’t buy it because you feel like you have to buy it. Buy it if it is necessary and you will surely use it all up.

Make sure that you won’t regret spending money.

Don’t buy it because of a trend, a hype, or try to get a cheaper price of something that you don’t ever need or would use.

Choose only the good stuff.

Don’t go overboard when shopping and get only what you need.

If you think you “maybe I need this”, don’t get it. Only get what you are not hesitating to get.

Don’t sacrifice your wallet for your pleasure that won’t last long.

If you haven’t used up your product just yet, maybe you can hold off for a bit.

If possible, buy products from brands that help make your health, mind, and body better and brands that help other causes and our planet.

Mommy, Baby at Home Workouts with adidas

Mommy, Baby at Home Workouts with adidas

In today’s’ post, I am sharing a few tips to make your day more joyful with a set of Mommy, Baby at Home Workouts, you can do together while staying at home.

Read on to find out.

This post has been sponsored by adidas. All opinions are my own.

It’s been an interesting time we all are facing, and it definitely brings us all closer together than apart, I have to say. One thing I have heard so many parents complaining about is that they are now spending so much time with their kids, and they don’t know what activities they should be doing because they can’t get out of the house and take their kids places. I know that it is going to be quite challenging for some parents who are always at work. You might feel a little lost at first, but trust me in this, it will get better, and you will love spending even more time with your kids after everything is all back to normal, (or at least the new normal).

Use this special time to learn and spend more time with your children because no one will take better care of your kids than you do. If you have no patience with them, who else will? And you know your children better than anyone else. Am I right?

To help you stay active and productive at home with your kids, in today’s’ post, I am sharing a few tips to make your day more joyful with a set of Mommy, Baby at Home Workouts, you can do together.

Fun Workout Tips with Kids

Before we get into the workout, I have a few tips to keep your workout fun with the below tips.

 1. Don’t take it too seriously.

Whenever you are participating in any activities with your kiddos, including working out, don’t take it so seriously. Remember that your kids want to have fun, and you want to relax, being too serious would ruin both of your moods and will create stress instead of joy.

2. Have fun with it.

Make your workout fun by having fun with it. When I work out with my kids, my only objective is to have fun with them. I don’t set goals for how many sets and poses I wanted to do. As long as I get my kids to participate, I am happy.

3. Learn with your kids.

I always learn new things in every workout session I have with my kids. It’s either my kids being creative with new poses or we are googling new lessons together. As you don’t need to know everything, you don’t need to be afraid of not being a perfect parent by not knowing everything. Well, it is impossible to know everything, so learn something new each day with them, it’s fun!

Now, let’s get into some easy at-home workouts you can start doing with your kids every day.

We started with a butterfly pose to stretch, then follow by Seated Mountain Pose, Lotus Pose, Warrior II Pose, Downward facing dog stretch, Cat-Cow Pose, Sitting hamstring stretch, then Partner Forward Fold at the end. Then my little one joins in, so I used her as a weight to do a few sets of Squats and Leg Lifts.

See the photos for how much fun we had!

Ten Surgery Recovery Tips for Dogs with Hartz®

Ten Surgery Recovery Tips for Dogs with Hartz®

Today, I would like to share with you Ten Surgery Recovery Tips on how to take care of your dogs after surgery and to keep you and your dogs calm during the recovery process.

Read on to find out all the tips!

Thank you Hartz® for sponsoring this post. Hartz Dog Diapers and Male Wraps provide superior comfort and fit for leak-proof protection!

I have three dogs (two Chihuahuas and a Beagle), and they have been with me since they were puppies. It has been over seven years together, and we have gone through several surgeries due to their health conditions and sometimes unexpected incidents.

During the first few surgeries and recovery times I had to go through with my boys, I remember myself being so worried and unsure about what I needed to do to make sure my dogs would be fine.

Ticket, the cute brown Chihuahua you are seeing, had a skin growth on his right paw where we had to undergo surgery to remove it. He was equipped with a dog cone around his neck and had to be separated from our two other dogs during his recovery.

It was a bit of a challenge trying to get our boys to go potty separately or being separate at all. We wanted to make sure Ticket would stay healthy during his recovery, and none of our dogs would try to lick the treated area.

Since Ticket was in a separate area with no access to the doggy door, we set up a doggy pad for him in the corner of the room so that he could go potty without being near the other boys.

We used doggy pads in the past for potty training our boys, and when we lived in an apartment with no backyard. Although they were absorbent, our boys did not always go in the right spot every time, leaving a big mess for us to clean when we got back home.

From the accidents he would have around the room he had to stay in, Hartz® Male Wraps would have made the recovery process much less stressful.

What I really like about Hartz® Male Wraps, is that they are not only soft and comfortable for our dogs to wear, but they come in two fun and stylish prints. They are highly absorbent and made with patented FlashDry® Gel technology, which instantly turns urine into gel for up to 6 hours of leak-proof protection. They provide a better solution for dogs who suffer from incontinence, urinating from excitement, excessive marking, and surgery recovery purposes.

Since I have quite a few experiences with dog surgeries and recoveries in the past, I would like to share with you Ten Surgery Recovery Tips on how to take care of your dogs after surgery and to keep your dogs and you calm during the recovery process.

Ten Surgery Recovery Tip for Dogs

ONE:

Separate him/her from other dogs

Keep your dog in a safe and secure location away from your other pets.

This could be a room in a different part of your home or a blocked off area of a living space.

TWO:

Make sure he/she has food and water

Be sure your dog has access to separate food and water bowls when recovering from surgery.

THREE:

Let him/her wear a wrap or diaper

Use either a wrap or diaper for your dog. The wraps can be used for male dogs and the diapers can be used for female or male dogs. This way will keep their incision or wound as clean as possible while making their recovery less painful.

Hartz® Dog Diapers Hartz® Male Wraps

FOUR:

Let him/her stay in a clean and quiet part of the home

Having an area that’s clean and away from the noise of other pets and people will make it much more relaxing for your dog to recover.

FIVE:

Give him/her pills as recommended

Follow your veterinarian’s instructions and recommendations when it comes to what pills to give, how much per dosage and when to give them.

SIX:

Have lavender essential oil around to help him/her relax

Relaxing and calm energy is very helpful when trying to recover from surgery. Put a few drops of essential oils around your dog’s bed to promote a restful and peaceful environment.

SEVEN:

Check on him/her often

Be sure to check in on your dog often to make sure he is healing properly and for you to spot if something is wrong.

EIGHT:

Give him/her comfort by petting his/her head and saying he/she will be okay

Consoling your pet, with affection and love, will make him feel safe and aid in his fast recovery.

NINE:

Follow your veterinary care instructions and go for your next checkup

Make sure to go for the next checkup so your veterinarian can see that everything is going well, and nothing more needs to be done.

TEN:

Call your vet right away if there’s an emergency or you have some concerns about your dog

Always have your vet’s number on hand in case of an emergency you have during your dog’s recovery process.

Inspiration behind Guest Bedroom/ In-Home Studio

Inspiration behind Guest Bedroom/ In-Home Studio

I think it might be a good idea to share with you my inspiration behind my newly renovated guest bedroom/ in-home studio before I show you the entire room.

Read on to see some beautiful imagery that inspired me to re-do this room.

“I listened to the voice of my home then started to turn my sweet old home into the person she wanted to become.”

If you have been following me for a while, you might already know that growing up, I didn’t have my own bedroom. So when my husband and I bought our first home, I wanted a room for me, a place where I can be creative, work, rest, and feel relaxed at the same time.

We fixed up one of the bedrooms and made it my office, but now we turned it into our daughter’s bedroom and moved my computer out in the living room. I technically don’t have my office anymore, so we decided to renovate the guest bedroom and turned it to be my studio.

I spent a lot of time creating content in this room since it was about 70% complete. Now I have been taking pictures in there every day. You will soon see a lot of what I created in the upcoming posts.

Last week, I showed you one section of my guest bedroom, the closet, and I got a lot of interest in that post. So I thought it might be a good idea to share with you my inspiration behind it before I am going to take you on a tour of my newly renovated guest bedroom/ in-home studio.

Every time I start a new project, I first have to work on my mood board. As Pinterest has always been a go-to source for inspiration for me for so many years, I spend a lot of time collecting some inspirational images and pin it to my board before I start the project.

For this guest bedroom renovation mood board, I picked images that represent nature, calm, and relaxation. I love neutral, and earth tone elements and accents, and the theme of this room is in between Bohemian, French, and Scandinavian style, I have to say. It also has a feeling of mid-century, modern, and minimal all in this room.

Alright, below are a set of images that inspired me to renovate this room.
